Welcome to The Kingdom of Meridies!
Unto the populace of Meridies, Greetings are sent from Kenneth and Sabine.
The fall event season is filled with many delightful events, opportunities to share time with friends old and new. Current custom in this month of November is to give thanks for the bounties before Us. It is Our desire to give thanks to the deserving members of Our populace for their good service and fine endeavors. One way We can do this is by the bestowing of awards. We are thankful to all those who take the time and effort to let us know what other gentles are doing by sending letters of recommendation. Please know that while the volume of recommendation letters We receive does not allow Us to respond personally to the senders, We do take the time to read every letter We receive and each one is given thoughtful consideration and evaluation. Please keep those recommendations coming Our way, for such letters are our eyes and ears across the Kingdom.
We are thankful to call Meridies home, and wish for it to ever be so.
In service to the Dream.
Kenneth & Sabine
The Kingdom of Meridies is a regional branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Participants, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, and more. Our "royalty" hold courts at which they recognize and honor members for their contributions to the group.
The Kingdom of Meridies is the fifth kingdom of the SCA, founded in 1978 and covers the states of Alabama, Georgia, the panhandle of Florida, most of Tennessee and select areas of Kentucky.
